My Role
Solo Product Designer for two enterprise modules (Inventory + Payroll) where I solved the "no vertical scroll" constraint using Atlassian & Shadcn systems. Reduced task time 30% for HR & Inventory Mangement (stakeholder confirmed). Delivered with senior stakeholder approval in 15-day cycles. NOTE: Not every project here is public or polished — that's intentional. This project is Under NDA/Internal to the companies.

Problem Definition
I designed two core modules "Payroll & Inventory" for an ERP platform combining Payroll, Inventory & Finance – targeting business needing all-in-one operations.
Inventory Module (Delivered first):
Journal, Payment, Receipt, Contra entries (single + multiple)
Sales/Purchase Invoices + Credit/Debit Notes
Sundry Debtor/Creditor tracking (invoice-wise)
Chart of Accounts, Opening Balance, User/Role Management
Payroll Module (2-3 months later):
5-step company onboarding (Registration → OTP → Details)
Employee 8-tab profiles (Personal, Salary, Documents, etc.)
Salary templates, Leave management, IT declarations
Tax regime comparison + statutory compliance
Target Users: Admins, HR, Managers (25-45 years)

About the project
Internal project at my last company, I was the only product designer assigned to create Inventory and Payroll modules for an ERP platform targeting SMBs - through 15-day cycles with senior stakeholders (15-20+ years experienced).
My Workflow :

Tools I Used :

Collaboration :
Senior finance & payroll experts reviewed every layout
Developers used Figma handoff
Client feedback evolved from "communicate better" → "perfect first try"

My Scope:
194+ screens across 2 modules
Inventory: Journal entries, payments/receipts, invoices, ledger, user management
Payroll: Multi-step onboarding, employee profiles, salary templates, IT declarations
Process:
2 Months - 15-day cycles (Jira tracked) → Design → Stakeholder review → Next iteration
Collaboration:
Seniors (15-20+ years exp), devs, client via Figma + Google Workspace
Client requirement:
"Make it as easy to use as possible" with zero vertical scroll – every critical data point visible at first glance.
Core Constraint I Solved:
Dense financial data → No vertical scroll dashboards
Challanges, Solutions & Approach
Enterprise dashboards overwhelm. I turned dense inventory/payroll data into intuitive, no-scroll experiences through research + innovative layouts.
#1 No Vertical Scroll Mandate
Traditional dashboards = endless scrolling through tables
Client: "All data visible at first glance"
190+ screens needed tabbed, card-based solutions
#2 Senior Stakeholder Alignment
Worked with 15-20+ year finance/payroll/inventory experts
Needed to justify every tab, layout, hierarchy decision
Initial feedback: "Good designs, but understand verbal needs deeply"
#3 Module Consistency
Inventory first, Payroll 2-3 months later
Client: "Exact same theme across modules"
My Approach:
Competitive Research (Indian payroll/inventory gaps)

15-day Agile sprints (Jira tracked)
AI validation (layout options + cognitive load)
Figma iteration (1-2 revision cycles max)

Key Design Decisons, Outcomes & Impact
30% faster tasks done by admins through zero-scroll innovation, Stakeholder internal testing confirmed + perfect stakeholder alignment across both modules.
#1 TAB ARCHITECTURE
Traditional scroll → Horizontal tabs (Journal | Payments | Ledger)
IMPACT: Instant context switching, zero scroll
#2 ONBOARDING PROGRESS
5 complex steps → Progress bar + auto-advance
IMPACT: First iteration approved instantly
#3 EMPLOYEE HUB
8 scattered data categories → Single 8-tab profile
IMPACT: HR finds info 3x faster
Outcomes & Metrics:

Stakeholder Evolution:
Phase 1: "Good designs, communicate verbal needs better"
Phase 2: "Onboarding perfect, first try"
Final: "Exact theme achieved. Desired output delivered"
My Biggest Win:
Verbal communication + clear process + Live prototype = senior stakeholders trust faster than pixels alone.
